Project Description < br /> Our woodturning club (www.detroitareawoodturners.com) had a professional demonstrator, Michael Hosaluk of Saskatoon Canada, coming in to teach our members new skills to improve our craft. He did a 1 day demonstration for 60 people and there were 3 days of hands on classes for 21 of our members to learn. The club approached me and asked me to cut all of the turning stock needed for the classes. With the help of club members, my 17 year old daughter and myself milled most of the lumber needed, including one day during a blizzard. The demonstrator made 8 pieces which stay with our club and the Pontiac Creative Arts Center where we meet. The rest of the wood was used in the hands on classes to make spheres, spatulas, bowls, off-center candle sticks, ladles and other arts and craft items. We had enough wood left to have 2 additional shop days where our members made spatulas to take home.
