Bee Hives

MONTY WRIGHT

LT15 Wide

Project Description
These Bee Hives were made using Cyprus Logs dumped as firewood by a tree company. This "firewood" was placed in a jig on my LT15 Wide and sawn into 1" slabs. Once it was dried, I planed the slabs, cut the lumber to size and the ends were run through a shaper to put a 45 degree Lock Miter edge on them before gluing the boxes together. The interior frames for the brood chamber and honey store were made out of Tan Oak that was reclaimed after the Lobo Fire burned across our property.

Finished Dimensions
Each box is 16" x 22".

Money Saved
$200 - 300, although there are no hives with this quality on the local market
